Airbag deployment question

Hi All,

I am looking for places on the dash of my 2001 to mount various accessories (GPS, etc.) and I am concerned with the horizontal panel that sits on top of the passenger side airbag panel. My quesiton is; when the airbag deploys, does that panel move as well? I don't want any mounts getting in the way of the airbag should it deploy.

I also don't want to try to test the airbag deployment! I know plenty on here have had that airbag deploy, so what have you seen?

Yes they move, the bag is underneath the cover. The owners manual tells you not to mount things there.

As you can see in the picture the flap flips up and the bag comes up from under it.
