So I got the snorkel mounted on my 01 and had to pull the inside fender mounted washer bottle. I have a couple xjs around me 91-96ish? and I could grab one of their washer bottles pretty easy. My question is about the things that attach to the bottles... The 01 has 2 pump looking things and one fill elbow. Do all the pump things interchange or do I need to rewire or move one to another... a little confused here. :dunno:

I grabbed one out of a ZJ for my 2000 in case I ever needed to move the stock one. I'm pretty sure all I have to do is reroute the little pumps and put them in the ZJ tank / mount the ZJ tank in the engine bay.

I haven't done this yet (no need) so I'm not sure if that's how you're supposed to do it.. It looks like it will work to me.

I snagged a tank out of a Ranger at the junkyard. Pulled the ranger pump off and popped on the XJ pump to make sure it had the correct connector. Just hook up the fluid line and you're good to go. (most pumps are similar, they might even be the same with the same connector)

The XJ has two pumps because one is for the rear hatch sprayer. Mine broke off the wiper mount years ago, so I ditched that pump.

So that's what the other one is for...DOH! heehee! Thanks, I didn't even think about the rear washer.
So are all the Jeep XJs pump things the same? Mine seems like it had worked fine, just in the way of the snorkel. I'd like to make it work again soon since winter here in Germany makes for a nasty windshield and hard to drive.

I'm not sure if the pumps and wiring connectors of all XJ's or all vehicles are the same, but I'm pretty sure that the nipple that goes into the tank is about the same on every car I've seen. If you find a different tank, just pull out the XJ pump and stick it in the new tank.

Damn, after looking on Rock Auto, the pumps they have don't look like any that I've seen before.

This is what every pump I've seen looks like:

Big inlet for the fluid that goes into the side of the tank with a rubber grommet, small outlet for the washer hose and an electrical connector on top.

The one I hear referred to most is just pre-97 XJs. Go stroll around the local junkyard and take a look at the ones inside older XJs, MJs, And ZJs. I'm willing to bet that you can find one that will fit.

Then just pull the tank (you can leave the pumps if you want to, I'm guessing that's the part that could be different) and install it in your Jeep. If you have these parts in your hands it makes a lot of sense.

Also, I'm pretty sure Talyn or one of the SC dudes has a regular tank in his fender for the windshield and an older style tank for SC cooling duties. This isn't what you'll do but you can go take a look at their thread and see the older style tank mounted in a 97+.

Edit: it's Cobra with the extra tank setup for cooling. http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1089504&highlight=Meth+injection - Second post shows a nice pic of the tank and mounting location.
:peace:
