School me on fuel cells

Ok, school me on fuel cells.

Im swapping and linking a rear 60 in. And i want to get the tank out from under to create some more room to push the axle back some. So I am thinking of doing a fuel cell inside the cargo area.

I found adapter rings for 97+ pumps. But i have a 95, so whats the best way to set up a fuel cell in a pre 97? I am guessing using a inline pump like the e2000. What about the sending unit?

Any advice is appreciated.

my junk has an RCI 18 gallon cell and an aeromotive pump.

Plumbed it right into my factory hard lines.
Factory fuel pressure regulator and all that.

I mounted the pump inbetween the cab and cell, cut a hole in the bed and ran the lines down to my factory hard lines.
