power outlet in the dash, I have a question...

I went to plug in my laptop charger and it didn't work. I busted out my multimeter and the outlet only has 8.2volts :dunno:

Could someone here test their outlet and let me know what voltage you have?

I'm thinking I might just wire it up (with a fuse) directly to the battery...

I found the plug had worked it's way off the back of the power outlet... loose connection= poor power.
