So I did some stupid crap and end of story broke my rear drive shaft. I broke one ujoint and broke the strap on my pinion yoke. I thought that was it but on further inspection I cracked the pinion yoke. I found one that I'm pretty sure is the one I need but when I took mine off it measures 3 1/4" and the one I found says its 3". I'm not really sure where to measure from though. does this look right?

I have a 2000 XJ sport with a chrysler 8.25. The old yoke was 27 spline.

Is there any chance that you measured the preload before you pulled the yoke? I ended up ruining an 8.25 gearset because I didn't get the pinion nut torqued down right after a yoke replacement (although it took 2 years.)

Didn't even think of checking the preload...BALLS!!!
I'd suggest that you talk to someone who's familiar with 8.25 gear setups before you install a replacement yoke.
