New to the jeep world. I have some slop in my steering box. I can watch the output shaft from the box move back and forth about 1/8 of an inch each as the wheel is being turned. Is it normal for these steering boxes to have some slop or is this a sign to get a new one? Thanks for the help.

If the shaft is moving, the main pitman arm bearing is shot. Adjusting a box with a worn bearing can be hazardous to your health.
