Add a leaf without removing entire leaf spring pack?

Anyone done this? Looking at it, I'm thinking I can just drop the axle and disassemble/assemble the leaf pack while leaving the main leaf bolted in without the potential aggravation of trying to take the whole thing out. Am I overlooking something that may complicate doing it this way versus taking out the entire spring pack? Thanks.

u have to atleaste beable to seperate the leafs but u dont have to pull the main leaf. c clamps realy help

I hate pulling the main leaf out and the last two jeeps i put bastard packs in I did it the way described above.

Pull the leaf packs apart, add the leaves you want.
Fish the centering pin up through
apply c-clamp and hammer on spring clamps

DONE

Eventually the packs will have to come out. The bushings will wear and you'll have to take them out. May as well get it over with. The best thing I have done to my Jeep is OME leafs and coils. To answer your question though, yes you can do that.
