Previous owner welded the A-Pillar beam to the firewall using the firewall as a crossbrace/spreader and attachment point.

why does it look like it lands on a rocker replacement in his pics and it looks like the bottom of the a pillar bar is just hovering in your pic?

The grey jeep (not the green) is angle iron welded to the firewall and the tube welded to that. Green one lands on the rocker steel.
