Fuel pressure gauge.

Rainman

NAXJA Forum User
Hello,
I'm looking for a fuel pressure test rig for my jeep. I'm hoping to get out of it for less than $50. All I can find are kits to test every kind of fuel system known to man= $$$.
I just want to test my 95 xj fuel rail pressure via the shrader valve. not a permanently mounted gauge.
any pointers appreciated.
I'm in Australia

Here in the US you can find one for less than 50 bucks, or could a few years ago. If you can't find anything, your next option would probably be to make one. You need, of course, a hose with a connector, and a gauge that reads up past 50 psi. For the gauge, the sort used for domestic water tanks is in about the right range. For the connector, try to find a fill hose for an R-12 air conditioning system. That should have the same fitting as your fuel rail. I don't know what else might be available in the way of parts, but it should be possible to assemble one for under 50 bucks.

Here you go mate:

A listing of Internet available gauges. As Amazon sells them, I imagine shipping to Oz would not be an issue. A tad spendy perhaps.
Thank-you that is the EXACTLY what I was after. It is all about the part number.

yes postage will appear to suck.......till you go to your local tool shop in Aus and ask the price for them to order one in...then it all looks very reasonable.
eg.
$75 bucks for a engine is about normal over here from the local auto store. rock auto in the states want $5 + $30 in postage. I have learned to plan my maintenance, and wait the week.
