Clamp on lower rear shock mounts?

I was tooling around under my F 250 yesterday and suddenly had an idea. The F 250 utilizes Ubolt secured lower rear shock mounts. Why not do the same thing for my Cherokee? That way, I could adjust the mount to whatever position I needed with NO WELDING. Im sure Im not the first one to have this idea.... Just thought it may be a valid alternative to having to weld and fight warp, while still being able to have a "Clear" mount that wont catch up on rocks and such, and even if you DID clamp em on at the stock position, theyd probably give and rotate if scraped across an arbitrary rock, stump, ect..... What say yall? Viable?

sounds like a solution for a non problem looking for a problem.
welding isnt a big deal.

look at your ford, theres a Lage dowel welded to the tube that keeps the mount from rotating or moving once clamped to the tube over the dowel...

Just do it like we all have been for decades?
