winch line

Are we talking synthetic like amsteel or similar ropes, or stock steel cable? Is there a reason you can't get 100ft of the 3/8? I abused my 3/8 masterpull rope for a long time and never damaged it. Liked having a nice margin of safety. I fit 125 feet of it on a xd9000i for reference if capacity is a concern.

I'd go with the 3/8". That way if you get a small knick it in or something you still have the safety factor of thicker line.

Unless it's the masterpull superline or XD. Then 5/16 should be fine.

I use a 3/8s amsteel 100' extension it has a loop on both ends, that way if your line gets cut you can just turn the line around and you're good to go.
