I have a 89 xj. 4.0L. Lately if I hop in and drive off after a few minutes It will back fire in the intake and sputter and sometimes die. Once it's died it won't restart until its sat for a while then idled for 10min at least. Then it will drive fine. If I idle it for 10+ min before I drive it it will run fine. but if i drive it to the gas station and turn it off for aprox. 10+ min. regardless of engine temp. I gotta start the whole process all over again.
I've already replaced cap& rotor. Plugs and wires. MAP, and cleaned out the IAC and intake. It still does it. The only other thing I can think of is the TPS but I don't know if maybe there is something else that could be causing this?
Has anyone else had or heard of problems like this?
