Warn manual hub replacement parts?

I just bought a D30 that has the Warn manual hub conversion. I've searched here and Pirate and google and cant find replacement part numbers, or even an original parts list. I am trying to find out what replacement parts I can use with this now that Warn no longer makes the kits. Do any of the other conversion kit parts work, such as the rugged ridge/alloyusa kit or any of the other ones? I want to have spare parts on the trail with me and its proving harder to find them than I though.

Which kit is it? They have more than one.

5x5.5 or 5x4.5?

You can buy most of the parts from Yukon.

Lets assume 297 joint.

Most of the parts are off of a Bronco II front end and available at any parts house. The shafts are available from Yukon. The hubs are available from Warn.

I'm not sure if you can get the spindles or not.

260 joint or 297 joint?

I was just looking at them in my dark garage and they look kinda small, I hope they aren't the 260s. Can I just swap in some 297s if that's the case or is it a whole shaft thing?

Thanks for the parts list, that's awesome.

I couldn't find a good photo, but the 260 is way smaller than the 297 and way weaker. You'd have to replace the inner and outer shafts.. all available from Yukon.

260's Small Dia. Cap 1.060"

297's Large Dia. Caps 1.187"

The 297 was discontinued and replaced by the 760 joint some years ago, but the 760 and 297 measure the same.

Take a close look at the Warn 5x4.5 hub conversion kit, then go to the junkyard and take a look at Ranger/Bronco II hubs. That's what the Warn kit was based on, and the parts should interchange.

Well I think I have 760s in the hp30 currently under my Jeep. Ill check the hp30 in the back of my Jeep and compare the size of the joints. Would I be better off with the warn alloy shafts in the kit if they have the smaller joints or with stock shafts that have 760s that are currently in my Jeep?

Thanks, ill look into this.

Just checked and they are 760s, thats good.

Then you should be good.

That said, the 5x4.5 hub kit is not a strong as the unit bearing setup - so I'd sell those parts and buy new chromoly axles for your existing unit bearings. :)

That's nice, I'm gonna act like that's not the case and still swap this axle in...

Buy a new pair of hubs and wheelbearings.

Keep them as spares, with some grease.

Aaaaand were back to where the post started hahaha. What hubs and bearings are best?
