Cool ya I have to find a trailer. I have a line on one that will fit three XJ's if that's the case my fuel will be almost paid for. If not I'm in need of a gooseneck that will haul atleast two XJ's. I still have alot to do to mine also. It's going to be a mad dash to get everything here and on the rig before we leave. Can't wait maybe one day we can meet up and go out on one of the trails with you guy's. Do you guy's have any plan's on what your running and what day?

It's not too late. Tell your husband to stop being a cheap skate and pack your junk up and come down. I might be able to find you a place to stay. Heck I might be able to haul your rig down if you pay for some of the fuel (this all depends on a lot of things.) I'm pretty sure he can get the time off. I wish you guy's would go I know you would have fun and it’s defiantly epic. I think Torx should come to I need him to spot me since I don't trust some of the people going with us.

Ha! I really wish I could make it again this year, but somehow my EJS budget got combined with the Nail Salon's. You guys will have a blast though, enjoy it.

Can someone please do me a favor, and pick me up a Yukon Gear & Axle coozie from the vendor show? Mine was thrown in the fire by an asshole last trip.

Since we are not registered for the actual event. It's hard to tell what days. So far the plan is

Hells revenge
Moab rim
Pritchett canyon

And we plan to rent RZRs for Kane creek on one of the last days

A: the EJS "event" starts friday, the 30th of march..
B: Last year was hardly "slammed" was actually Very easy going..

I go during this time, simply for the atmosphere of being in a town of Jeepers, And to have a good time on trails that arnt too busy on off days..

Plus, the little "offroad fair" was pretty neat to check out..

With KOH being so close to EJS, I'm sure it will be even more laid back this year

Here's the list of trails and what days the runs are going on.
http://www.rr4w.com/trail-list (http://www.rr4w.com/trail-list)

This will tell you what day each trail is closed so you can plan your week. We found this help alot last year. We did run Moab Rim the same day as one of there runs. You just have to wait for the run to be completed before they open it up to the public. When we get our list of trails were running and when I will post it up here.

Those boogers filled up fast. I started calling around in October and canyonlands was no longer taking cabin calls. Holy hell. I was the second cabin call for slickrock. But they don't open up the reservations till November

Pretty much, if you want to go to EJS now, your options are camping, or $500/night houses

I shake, rattled, rolled, popped banged squeeked and wobbled all the way there last year, broke down 300 times, and got tow strapped in the last 50 miles. Just to set up a tent and spend the first day fighting repairs

I averaged $100/day in repairs and delt with the same story getting home.

This year, A cummins and a trailer are taking me to a cabin. And bringing the finances to have a shop do any work that could make me dirty!

Yeah, my jeep went out of commission in feb, i took 2 months to bolt on 8 grand worth of Garbage, then loaded it up and left for moab, 1000 miles of a "shake down run" was enough.. I dont even like driving my jeep to TSF anymore.. Besides, the tow rig gets better mileage :firedevil

its funny what 1000 miles from home does to a jeep as apposed to 1000 miles of in town driving. its like it gets anxious so far from home.

Yours was the most entertaining trip report out of all of them. Theirs no way I would wheel my junk that far from home with out it being trailered. I only went over to Millican vally and towed my RV trailer when I still had it with my red xj to visit a friend. At the time I think it still only had 85 to 90k on it. We decided oh he'll lets take it on an expiation in the hills have a pick nic with the kids and he would show us around where his jeep club goes. Some how I ended up breaking my front Cardon joint and didn't relize it till I started home. I was loaded down baking down the hwy when the whole jeep started shaking violently and it let loose. Luckily all I had to do was pull over and remove the front drive shaft. I was only 250 miles from home I couldn't imagine 994 miles. That's one of the reasons you, don't see me at TSF anymore. I'm not driving the YJ any further then work till I can wheel and deal me a cheep trailer to RV car dolly.

It comes down to prioritys. Spending the time and money for streetability vs the stuff I want like Pretty lights and a new front locker

The jeep actually drives decent on the street now, I'm getting somewhere with trying to get it dialed in, but Its never going to feel as reliable as it once was.

Iceman: what day are you planning to leave?

First I thought we were leaving Wed 28th but our camping site doesn't start until the 30th so we are leaving late Thursday night probably around 8 or so. That way we miss traffic but we are towing in the dark to keep tires cool. I thought it would be better to let the kids sleep most of the way since there only 3 and 2 years old. How about you??

Also since I'm on here does anyone have a gooseneck trailer that has a 30ft deck on it. I also need it to have a payload of 10k. I would be willing to pay you if I could use it for our trip. The trailer I was planning on buying the owner came back with an outrageous price. He want's 5k for it and it need $1500 in part's to make it legal. So I'm now in the market and would prefer to rent one from someone rather than buy one to just sell it when I get back. If it's big enough I would be willing to haul your rig with our two to Moab and back for free. I will be towing it with a Dodge Dually with a 6spd tranny. Let me know if you have a lead on one.

February 13th, 2012, 20:01
Also I'm getting intouch with the Intermountian Chapter to see if anyone is going that group. There are a couple people going I thought maybe we could do a meet and greet one night. I like to meet people from all over to see there rigs and talk jeeps. Let me know if your interested and I will keep you informed

NW-ZJ-SCOTT
February 13th, 2012, 20:54
alot of things can change between now and departure date.. I could see myself leaving a night early and Following you down.

Also, Goodluck finding a trailer.. I've seen how hard it is to rent one or find one.. My advice would be start looking for a Plan B.. Just sayin!

Icemans
February 13th, 2012, 21:45
Good Advise. I already have a plan B but then I will be sleeping in a enclosed trailer instead of my rents RV so I hope I can find one.

FYI, you can usually get a hotel room a week or two before EJS. People call and reserve, then cancel. Sometimes you have to switch mid week, and the last weekend is harder then the begining of the week.

Just an update we are planning on running Goldenspike on Tuesday if you interested in running a trail with the RR4W. It cost $50 per trail but it's worth it. You get to go to the Quadratec BBQ for free dinner, you get a raffle ticket for the awsome raffle, and you get to support the RR4W in the quest to keep MOAB open to the public. They are a key factor in keeping it open and if you run out there I feel it's a good idea to support them. So our whole group is paying for one day to help support it. That is $450 in there pocket I think that is awsome. Let me know if you want to run with us and I can work something out with you to get you on the list.

Icemans
February 19th, 2012, 18:02
Finally got all signed up for Goldenspike on Sunday April 1st (first Sunday.) If your interested sign up soon. There filling up fast only 3 out of the 6 day's are still open for this trail and only 11 spots left on this day.

I'm trying to set all this up but it's going to have to be on a night I don't have anything else going on. So far I really do not have any plans except for Friday I am probably running the triple Threat with some friends of mine. I would love to hook up and run some trails with you guys. I am open to almost anything except buggy type trails. Want to keep the few straight parts of me jeep straight with windows intact if possible. Set up with longarms, locked front and rear with Rubicon 44 in front with arb and chormolies and cherokee 44 in rear with spool with 4.88s. Let me know.

All right guy's this is how my week is going to look. First I want to make sure you know that the club I'm organizing this with does not condone drinking alcohol on the trail. That is meant for around the camp fire after all wheeling has been done for the day. I'm sorry if this offends you that’s not what it's meant to be. This is my second year of going with these people and because I'm inviting NAXJA members to join us I want to make it clear up front. I hope you still want to join us and I look forward to meeting some of you while we are in Moab.

Friday Fins and Things in the afternoon
Saturday Kane Creek
Sunday Golden Spike
Monday Strike Ravine
Tuesday Area BFE Crawl Mag Day
Wednesday Hells Revenge
Thursday Vender Show and maybe Moab Rim or Cliff Hanger
Friday Pritchett Canyon

Saturday Leaving in the AM to go home

Any questions send me a pm because my next two weeks are very busy.

Sunday is WARN Media/vendor run, following Saturday is the Dirt Riot race that I'm thinking about running trail rig class in. And Wed. night I think is BFE's "wheeling under the lights" night.
