Dana 35 moaning noise

So I noticed today a noise coming from the rear end and upon inspection I noticed there is dif fluid leaking from the pinion seal. I'm thinking that the noise has to be coming from the bearing? Correct?

Its a good place to start. Is there excessive play in the pinion?

time to ditch the 35, as adding more gear oil breaks the #1 rule.... never spend money on a d35. IF YOU ALLREADY HAVE IT, so be it... but you dont pay to get more herpes sores.

Try to find a 8.25 in a junk yard and swap it in. Much better rear than the D35, so if your going to spend the $$ then upgrade while your at it.
