Remote car starter and neutral safety switch

My remote starter stopped working almost 2 years ago and now I want to fix it again because of cold winters.

I bypassed my NSS. I was wondering if I needed the Neutral Safety Switch in order for the Remote car starter to work???

I'm guessing it stopped working when the nss was starting to go.

But if they are not relevant, then I know i can have my remote starter back.

More than likely yes, but if that is what was wrong with it it should have started working again when you by passed the switch.

I'm pretty sure they work with one another, so you can either get another NSS or clean yours(70% that fixes it).

Just going through this now.

The NSS is only "required" for manual transmission installs for safety reasons. In the auto, just ground that wire out to the chassis.
