I was reading gojeep's page in the hood vent section and he talks about how "Removing the rubber from under the sump" will help a little to aid in evacuating some heat under the hood.

Anyone tried this? I know it's only gonna be marginal and i have future upgrades in mind but today i had a heat soak vapor lock! it's december dammit! it's been a mild start to winter but really?

I would just get a louvered peice from quadratec. Its only like 30 bucks shipped IIRC and should only take a few hours to install. If you take that strip off water can run into the back of the hood. Sounds like maybe you have a problem somewhere else
