4.7 stroker electrical problms

I just put in my new stroker. Im seeing an arc between the head and intake runners... WTF?!

also my ground strap that goes from the firewall to the head gets really hot and smokes while cranking.:hang:


I really dont wanna mess up my $3,000+ investment. help please!!!

You need to connect a ground cable to the engine block.

It is usually connected on the mounting bolt for the oil dip stick support.

i have like 4 groungs that go to the block, just found one i missed and it fixed my cranking problem of hot ground strap. but it still wont start... and i caqnt tell if its still arcing at my intake cause im alone.

There are also two points on the front lower passenger side of the block that are ground points.

right. theres three wires that go to them, i missed one. got that.

now im just worried about the head/intake issue! i dunno if that fixed it or not cause i can crank it and see at the same time. but if it is still happening then what should i do? is it because i didnt use the two piece metal gasket? i used the supplied soft gasket.

gasket isn't a problem. Make sure that the ground wire to the head is in good condition and that the ground points are clean. Also make sure the battery side grounds are good.
