the older xj's up to 96 have the EB in the middle of the tunnel and the 97+'s have the EB on the side closer to the drivers seat.
Has anyone done this mod to move it from center to the left? Other than have OEM drink cup holders, are there any advantages?

Doubt it; no advantage that I am aware of for going either way.

Some of us who have switched to the newer style console have done it. Not that hard.

Hmmm!

So the idea was to upgrade the interior, not an improvement on the E-Brake system?
