1998 NSS connector schematic here

The NSS connector on m 1998 XJ does NOT match the connector shown on the manuals I have, the manuals show an 8 terminal connector in 2 rows of 4, and the connections show no continuity needed for drive, this is not what I found in my case

Took the NSS apart to clean it , and made the following diagram:
VIEW into the connector going to the NSS , gray case


This is the first time I see the reverse lights working :clap:

Driving became really nice and sedated , hope it lasts !!!

your manual is probably from a 96 or earlier then - that connector shape you mentioned and the "no continuity in drive" lines up perfectly with what an 87-96 NSS looks and acts like.

Thanks for the pinout, this is definitely good info to have around.

They did change in 97 and not all aftermarket manuals show the differences. On going problem with both Chilton and Haynes manuals.

Haynes used to be the best of the aftermarket, not so much now.
