Repair or Substitute Clock Spring

Has anybody repaired or found a substitute for a clock spring for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with cruise control. I can't figure out why the price for a clock spring for a 2000 Cherokee is so much more than one for a Grand Cherokee or other vehicles. If anyone has repaired one, or used a substitute how did it work and could you post or email instructions on it with possibly pictures.
Thanks,
Bill

You could disassemble a broken clock spring and you might be able to fix it. A clock spring that has been crashed should be thrown away. I have had good luck with used clock springs from non-crashed Cherokees. A TJ clock spring may work.

I have an extra 97-01 XJ clock spring, PM me for details.
