check to see if the injectors are firing

Hi all,

I was working on my jeep and i noticed one of injectors connector wires were split (bare wire showing). Is there a way to check if it is still firing? Can i unplug and turn the key to see if it is still arcing across the contacts?

With the Jeep running, pull each connector loose one at a time, if there is a drop in the idle then the unplugged injector is firing.

Post over in OEM Tech(this is mod tech),probably get more responses over there.They do make injector imulalators though.

^^ this allways worked for me. ^^

those fuel injector connectors just BAKE over time...

Can i use high temp liquid tape on the wires or should i get new/old ones at the jy and splice?

What's the rating on that high temp liquid tape? You've got a very hot exhaust header underneath a fairly thin shield, and you're very close to the head.

I just replaced my exhaust manifolds with a flow daddy header. What would be a high enough temp range? I have not bought it yet.

It would be easy enough to wrap those injector leads with some plug wire wraps to shield them
