Once upon a time, this was the trail to run for COS peeps, and others. The Hayman fire seems to have made people forget about it, as least the crowd. Predator says the trail is open all year round. They maintain it for Teller County, who rescued the trail from the FS.
I have no idea what the trail is like now. When I ran it 10 years ago, there was one rock obstacle, a couple of climbs up loose gravel, and a river crossing either to the south or the north. The rock obstacle was listed as difficult, but back then I got over it open, 30's, and 3". Apparently now the trail no longer goes to the river but ends with a turn around.

It's probably a two hour drive from COS to the trail head. Any interest for Sat or Sun, 10/22, or 10/23??
