98 jeep cherokee sport

I have a 98 jeep cherokee sport that has a 4.0 with a miss. i have replaced the head and given it a complete tune-up but the miss persists. i have heard this is a common issue but noone else has told me how to fix it. i had a mechanic hook it up to a scanner and it through no codes.

At what RPM's and under what conditions ?

- All your tune-up parts new within the last 30,000 miles ?
- Cleaned the Throttle Body and Idle Air Controller ?
- Tested the battery and checked/cleaned/snugged all the wires and ground cables ?
- Checked and cleaned all the wire harness plugs ?
- Tested the CPS and the TPS ?
- Tested the fuel injections ?
- Used fuel injector cleaner ?
- Tested the compression ?

A compression test will tell you wonders here. Literally eliminate 50% of the components... Do a wet, dry, and dynamic.
