I swapped the R-12 system on our 89 MJ to a R-134a system from a 96 XJ, Everything was swapped except the evaporator.

I have 275 on the high side and 45 on the low side but the compressor does not cycle. I am getting cold air from the vents.

Is this normal for the compressor to not cycle yet everything work properly?

Depends on temperature, humidity, and air flow across condenser. In high humidity and high temps, that's a reasonable reading and it's blowing cold. The temperature out the vent should be around 50-60* at those readings.

Ive never seen a compressor that does cycle(exept when not properly charged).

Okay, I'll not worry with it then. I had to splice the wires at the pressure switch so I had a 50/50 chance of getting them right the first time. It had me a bit worried.

As humid as it's been the past couple of days, that's normal. I'd say you've got nothing to worry about either. Those pressures are pretty good!
