We need you and your XJ!

We want your buggies (street-licensed), chopped, caged, stocker XJ's and MJ's. Lets show up the old farts in their show room JK's. The more beat up the better.

Help put a smile on a kids face and create memories for a lifetime. (Cracker no comments needed from you)

Sonia and I have already signed for the weekend. I will be driving on Saturday, Sonia will be driving on Sunday.

The KOPL committee is very proud to announce the 12th annual Kids On Public Land event will be held this year on September 17th and 18th at the Big Bear Discovery Center.

KOPL 2010 was a huge success, thanks to the continued support of each of our volunteers and supporters. Without you we couldn’t host this event for the kids!
We’ve heard back from the YMCA and C4K (formerly CalPAL) group leaders that the kids had an absolutely wonderful time last year and enjoyed all of the terrific gifts in their goodie bags.

We again ask that you volunteer your time and support to help make this year’s event just as special as previous years. It’s because of the continued generosity of our volunteers and supporters that Kids On Public Land has been so successful for so many years. Without you we wouldn’t be able to provide these wonderful kids the opportunity to experience a fun-filled day in our forest learning about the plants and animals, safe OHV use, panning for gold, and their all-time favorite, a ride in a 4x4 through the forest! New this year, instead of learning with stuffed animals, the Moonridge Zoo of Big Bear will be doing a presentation using LIVE animals of our forest!......shhhh, it’s a surprise, so don’t tell the kids!

Several volunteers will be needed each day to help with tasks throughout the event including 4x4 drivers both morning and afternoon (gentlemen drive on Saturday, ladies drive on Sunday). I’ve attached a copy of this year’s Volunteer Registration form. Please fill it out and send it back either by fax, scan or mail.

We’re also in need of gifts for the children’s goodie bags (50 boys and/or 50 girls). Examples of gifts could be pencils, pens, hats, DVD’s, toy cars, combs, brushes, dental hygiene products, school supplies, books, stickers, packaged snacks, anything you think our kids might enjoy.

We also graciously request any monetary donations to help support this event. Kids On Public Land is a not-for-profit event. All donations received go towards event expenses. Any dollar amount is greatly appreciated.
