Random pics from my emergency brake mod for the 97+ crowd. I have a D44 rear but its really the location of the bracket on the driver's frame rail that holds the adjuster and equalizer. Plently of room to droop, I routed the cables to the diff, then to the drums along the tubes and fixed them there. Oh yeah, i used 1990 YJ passenger side cables, NOT 91+ cables. The difference is in the sheath length. Both ends of the 91+ YJ cable have about 6-8" of cable past the sheathing, too long for the 97+ bracket making it impossible to adjust correctly (or at all). The 90 has about 6-8" on one end (drum) and 1-2" on the other. I hope I'm making sense. I swapped out the 8.25 in favor of a 44 and in retrospect, you can just route the pass side to the driver's and get ONE new cable to replace the short one on 97+ XJs. HTH
