Shhhh, do not tell anybody.... this is for *you* only! If you look at this URL, understand it is a Developement area, and things will/may change,

In otherwords... if ya wanna bitch (about the layout), do so here.... it will go away...it is just a copy of the forums database. Nothing posted there will be seen here.

Pretty much... if ya wanna add something constructive... gp for it. If there is an image you dislike.... and can design a better one... go for it... we like help in that manner.

If you just drop by to say "it sucks".... do not be surprised if we overlook your comments, and "forget" to reply. Heck, we may even throw a marble or two at ya.

Remember.... this is a working, functional "test" forum. No posts made hthere will show up here.

On the positive side, like the colors, like the calender, probably stuff I am missing. On the negative side, not any faster, does not fill the whole page, too many MS/XP references
Otherwise, interesting, so whats the platform ??

Ever thought of phpbb? Yes.... we have been there, done that. A more robust solution was needed. phpbb is fine for a free bb.

XP'is? Yup... thats why I asked if folks would be interested in making a new image or two. ;)

Start button? Yeah.... we need somebody to make a NICE NAXJA image in that same size.

Platform? Same as always. Just the newest software in the pipe.

Don't mind it. Just like anything new, it will take some getting used to.

Positive overall, maybe lose the fisher price XP blue and give it a more NAXJA red look. Dunno how much you can do to customize or the effort it takes, but whatever is easy for y'all to do gets my vote.

Dont want to sound like a sheep, but I too like the overall. And once again, mark up another opinion for the "looks too much like XP"

Aim yer marbles at me:D

I can see if I can get the same software I used to make that logo at the top left. I know you could make buttons with any text in it.

Change is good, and overall I do like it. Honestly I think it looks more like AOL 9.0 than XP.

Very nice, I like it, also helps differentiate us from JU forums. One feature they have that I do like though, is the ability to jump to any forum from a pull down menu they have on every page.

I like it. Very similar to another board I read It would be easier to navigate.

on the main page, I like seeing not just when the last post was, but what thread it was in also.

Change for the sake of real improvement is good.

Change for the sake of change is evil.

Doesn't work for me (Netscape, remember?). It started to load, and I got the big NAXJA on top and a row of buttons across the top of the page just below that -- then it blew up and took me to a "Page Not Found" error screen.

I don't think I saw enough to judge the appearance. In general, if it is at all XP-ish or AOL-ish, I'm against it. Remember -- K.I.S.S. However, the most important thing is that it has to work for everyone who uses the forums. (Especially me :) )

I like it... it looks more modern and streamlined, like comparing XP to Win95 or something like that. Or comparing a '97 to a '96 XJ. (UH-OH, what have I started now?)

Not bad. Not really TOO different, just the colors. Wouldn't mind it if long threads could be displayed on one page instead of multiple.

Somehow I knew Eagle would not like it. ;)
It does not matter too much though... it is just a "skin". The current version is still there and available. Just playing with some different skin choices to offer some variety.

If you really want to see something wierd, on this forum, go to your User CP and select the other theme availalable for this forum. That will freak you out for sure.:D It is not all together working though, but I am not sure I like it enough to keep working on it.

Not sure how it could do that. The JU software, the current NAXJA software and this new software are all the same, just different colors and profiles. This current NAXJA software looks more different than JU with the red/tan colors.

Honestly, I don't like it.

I would just stick with our current layout, but just update all the buttons. Blue buttons don't really go with the red/tan/brown colors of everything else.

Buttons like this ----> http://www.naxja.org/forum/images/top_profile.gif

Forum Fixer, let me know if you want me to work on the buttons. I could probably come up with a whole new button set that you could just upload overtop of the other ones.

What are the functional improvements of VB3 from a behind the scene standpoint?

I.E. If it makes the forums easier for the forum fixer to fix... then it's good.

If not... then why bother? (I know that was one of the big issues goin from the old forums to these)

I like the look of the other theme available under the user cp, it just needs some more work.

I find it sorta difficult to read. Some color contrast would be a GREAT change/addition to it. Maybe some RED and thicker BLACK to help it "feel" good when we read.

Otherwise, I could get to like it.

I think I'm tarded, I can't find the other theme available in the user cp. Now is it the user cp on the regular page or the new page?
