Yet another what's that noise thread

Wow not even a "use the search" or "your motor is going to blow" response?

From the searching I have done I am starting to think/hope it's piston slap and not a rod bearing. It seems to go away a few hundred rpms off idle.

thanks, seems I can check that by removing the inspection plate on the bell housing. Is that the top of the housing or the bottom?

I have searched but it seems no ones has ever taken a picture of the thing!

When you get underneath, it's fairly obvious. Only difficulty I encountered is one bolt for the cover being inconveniently close to the exhaust. A helper is handy for turning/holding the crank, but it can be done solo as well.

Okay checked the 4 outer bolts on the flex plate all were tight.

How the hell are you suppose to get at that thing without talking the exhuast of?? I got it done but it took alot if swearing at it to get it back on.
