How do you remove the bearing in the cover that supports the front DS shaft? I have normal home tools but not special DC tools. Usually I can get by with HF tools or sockets for bearing insertion. I don't know how to get this one out. It is the needle bearing that is pressed into a blind cavity on the cover.

the one on the back half of the case? i used a small pilot bearing jaw puller from HF. but first i essentially destroyed the bearing by knocking out the needles and that gave me a lip on the top of the bearing to use the puller on. worked like a charm. make sense?

this thread has some other info as well.
