Hey guys, A friend of a friend has this Cherokee that he wants to get rid of. My buddy says that he was just thinking of dumping it. I could use some of the parts on my rig, but a lot of the stuff won't transfer over. Here are the details the guy sent me. Now I know its tough to judge from here, but ball park, what should I be looking a spending on this thing if he doesn't want to part it himself.

its a 89 cherokee w/ like a 3" lift, almost 200k miles...bryan said you didn't
> really want the jeep, but were insterested in some of the accessories.
> its got a roof rack, PIAA fog lights front and back, 31" bfg mud terrain tires
> on 16 1/2" rims, nice grant steering wheel, front and back custom bumpers, and
> a ton of new parts.
> i've replaced almost the whole brake system and power steering. its got a new
> battery, new alternator, and i just gave it a tune up (distributor cap, rotor,
> new spark plugs and wires, air filter, oil change, oil filter, fuel filter).
> it doesn't run quite right because of some vaccum difficulty that i can't
> figure out (pressure build up in the EGR valve vaccum translucer, even with a
> brand new EGR valve and translucer).

Thanks for any help.

Well for what it's worth BFG doesn't make MT's in the 16.5" size but they do make an AT :)

Yeah, I kind of wondered about that. It seemed like an odd sized rim.

Now you might still want to chek the rim and the tire... even though you're not supposed to, I heard of people mounting wrong sized tires on wrong rims! That's just an accident waiting to happen if you ask me :(

Modified Cherokees are worth LESS on the open market than stock, and it's an '89 with over 200k so most people will be afraid of it. The Edmunds price won't account for the accessories, but will assume that it runs right. I just priced an '88 Laredo (with 165k miles) and got a price of $850.

IMHO that's about a $300 to $500 truck. If you want a bunch of the accessories, it might be worth more to you. For the seller, it's definitely worth more as parts than it is as a vehicle, especially if it doesn't run right and he can't fix it.

16.5" rims are a truck size, and I think they come only in 6-bolt or 8-bolt flavor. It might be interesting to ask what it has for axles, but I think you really need to look at it before making an offer -- unless you just throw a low number at him.
