So in the process of doing the RMS and where the oil pan gasket sits by the bearing cap, right under the RMS it's not really snug in that little channel... it seems rather loose. Is it supposed to be like that or is this thing a pos and what can I do to remedy the situation?
The gasket I pulled out of there was lodged into the channel and took some good scraping to get out. Will it snug in there once the pan is on?
And the anerobic sealer I got from NAPA that i've read to use... is a pos =/ the sealant sat on the mounting surface of the block squished between the block and gasket bolted on for at least 16 hours or more so it would stay put while putting on the pan... go to unbolt it to start the process and it slowly starts to fall down. Laaaame.
