Crossmember Bolts

So I stripped out my cross-member bolts on the the heap, I did some research on here and the consensus on here seems to be either cut a hole replace the stripped nutsert or drill and tap. Well I think I am going the drill and tap route and everyone says use a 7/16" tap.

So my question is this, what pitch is preferred 7/16-14 or 7/16-20? Also what is the proper drill bit size for these?

Hey I got the same problem. If you figured it out please pm me and I will do same. I like the drill and tap idea since I just put in frame stiffeners.
