I have a 1998 4 door XJ with the 4.0. It's a 5sp 4wd. I am having a bizzare elecrtical problem. I have searched the forums extensively but cannot find a solution. If this has already been addressed, please kindly send me the link to it! I noticed the other day that my dome light would not turn off. A day or two after that, I turned on my rear defroster and noticed that it caused the dome light to go off. The rear defroster just stayed on the rest of the time the Jeep was on, no auto-shutoff. Over the next few days, I figured out that if you turn on the dome light with the headlamp switch, it kills the rear defroster, and if you turn on the rear defroster, it kills the dome light. I am no electrical genius, and I have no idea where to even start with this. Any advice?
