I just replaced the distributor cap and rotor. The contact posts inside the cap were all worn on one side, not in the middle or across the entire post. As you look in the cap ( cap upside down) they were all worn on the right edge. The rotor had carbon /pitting on both outer edges but was clear in the middle. What would cause just one side to be worn. It was an AZ Duralast Gold cap with brass contact posts about 4 years old. No noticable performance issues just felt it was time to replace cap/rotor and plugs due to age and I am trying to get any gas mileage improvement possible.
Thanks
