So I now have every thing but a transmission and t case for my 4x4 convert for my 89 2wd auto MJ . Now I need to know what are all of the years that i can take an AW4 out of an XJ/MJ? Also can I get a Transmission out of a TJ? If so what years? Thanks!
Any renix era cherokee or comanche should fit right in, connectors and everything. Any XJ or MJ transmission from other years can be made to work if the connectors are different from what I heard. I believe all you have to do is splice in the new connectors. Some of the autos from a TJ dont have overdrive btw not sure if all of them are like that, dont know if that matters to you or not. Its probably easier and cheaper to just get an auto tranny from an XJ or MJ. Hell the junkyards here are littered with renix era XJs.
