Mounting CB in place of dash vent

I have searched this but have not found any pics. I want to install a CB in dash under the heat controls where the vent is. This vent is not functional on my 96 anyway so why not. Has anyone done this on a pre 96 and have any pics of the install?

I have thought of doing this to mine also. It looks like it would be a good fit for a small unit.

I was hoping this would get more responses, seems like a great place to put it, though I think my Uniden might be a tad large.

I dont know, but i put my cb speaker in the ash tray. just gutted the components & put a grill on it. youll need a place for the noise to come out anyway, if the unit has a built in speaker.

i mounted my uniden in the overhead console. mine didnt come with an overhead console so i went to the jy, picked one up for cheap and cut out the lense where the temp. displays and mounted the cb in the vacant space. works awesome!
