have a 1990 laredo automatic the shift cable kept comming off @ the trans I kept pushing it back on till it started to come off every shift. well long story short no one had the cable ( it 87" long ) but found one thru a bud at NAPA got it on and 9 shifts later it broke. prob my falt sence it feeds across the firewall behind inst.cluster out thru the far upper left corner then down under the mastercyl to the trans . MY QUESTION IS CAN I CHANGE OVER TO THE SHORTER CABLE LIKE ON A 2000 THAT TAKES A MUCH MORE DIRECT ROUT TO THE TRANS? THANKS
