Hey All,
I have the line on a NP249 transfer case out of a 1998 Grand Cherokee 5.9L. I know that this particular TC is not ideal because of the viscous coupler but I have read that this TC has a 6 gear planetary and a wider chain than my NP231.(Out of 99' Cherokee). I have found many junkyard upgrades for the 231 but I haven't come across a thread where anyone has dissected the planetary gears and chain from a 249 and put them in a 231. Now to my question. Are the 249 parts compatible with my 99' 231. Possibly an easy upgrade? Your input is appreciated. Thanks
