Ford 8.8 instalation help

For fab you'll need to cut off the explorer mounts and weld on perches for an XJ. While doing that you can set the pinion angle. Then you need to figure out what to do with the brake lines and e-brake cables(my main concern since my 8.8 has already been on an XJ) you'll also need to decide if you want to run wheel spacers or not. Its not really all that difficult to swap the axle its just the small things that need worked out.

Find someone with a welder to weld them to your axle after you've mocked it up for pinion angle.

You'll also need the flange adapter for the u-joint.
Spicer 2-2-79 IIRC off the top of my head.

If you're lifting it 4-5 inches you can probably use your stock shaft, if not, it will need to be shortened, as the 8.8 has a longer pinion snout.

See here, just replace coil buckets with perches.
