Np 231 input shaft question

Will a 231 from a 97 aw4 231 work on a 99 ax-15 231?

Anyone have an idea? would like to know if this will work before I pull everything apart.

BrettM: The AX15 (assuming it's not some weird Chevy version) and the AW4 both bolt up to the right np231 with ease.

old_man: If the spline count is the same, it will for the most part bolt up. I've been told that there is a long snout input shaft version of the NP-231 that has problems due to its length in some apps, but I can't remember which. Maybe someone can clarify this for you
