how to check/replace balljoint/shaft seal

So I pulled the knuckles off my d30 front to sell them with the 1ton steering and was wondering how to check if the balljoints need to be replaced. same for the shaft seal. I'm gona be runnin 35 in tires and chromo shafts with a ox locker.
