I'm sure everybody has heard that Johnny Cash passed away this morning. I'm kicking myself b/c I had a chance to see him perform a few years ago on his last tour, but I didn't make it. I've never liked most country music, but it seemed to me that Johnny had a song for whatever mood I was in at the time. Anyway, I was just wondering if there where any other Cash fans on here, and maybe what their favorite song is. (mine's "Wreck of the Old 97")

Yep, avid listener to the man in black. Bought some of his CD's and would play them in the sons YJ, top off and enjoying the world. Discovered him over 30 years ago and had no problems listening to iron butterfly followed by some cash ballads. I even liked his and junes acting :D

Yep, I heard first thing this morning. Sad sad day. I first started listening to Johnny Cash after hearing him on Bob Dylan's "Nashville Skyline" In the last few years his "Murder" CD has been in heavy rotation in my CD player. There was such a note of honesty that came through in every song he sung. He will be missed.

Yep missed for certain, you could see it coming though. Especially with the death of Joanne at the begining of the summer. I've seen a lot of the legendary musicians play, but I never did have a chance to see him.

Another vote for Murder: Cocaine Blues(Listening to it now), Delia's Gone, Going To Memphis, Jacob Green are the ones that stick out for me. I like all his music, really.

Yawp, gonna seriously miss The Man In Black.
He and the Carter family are part of the fabric of Americana.
The circle will be unbroken. Rest in peace, John.
