Rear coilover shocks Good/Bad?

Wondering if installing coilover shocks in the rear would have any perks at all. I understand the shock would help support some of the weight so I could remove a leaf. But are they worth it.

I found these for $200
Ford Rear Shocks

Fit stock explorers and there shocks are around 25"/15" extended/compressed.

This all just crazy talk?

Only way you go coilovers in the rear would be a full sub frame and 4 link. Add another 0 on the end of your price.. If you have a good friend who fabs. Double that as a walk in.

Coilover shocks are meant to be their own spring. You don't use them to "double team" with your leafs. To make rear coilovers work, as said, you have to completely re-engineer your whole rear suspension set up. Don't do it.
