Header question

My factory manifold is cracked badly. Was going to get a header off ebay. It's a new dynomax header but the seller list it as fitting 94 95 96 97. I was originally told their all the same which I figured woulds be true. I also figued it it will fit a 97 it will fit a 98 correct ?

He means the 2 mini cats after the collector on the exhaust manifold.

If you are talking about the 4.0 engine (posting your BASICS--such a good idea, so seldom done), then 1987-1999 will all fit EXCEPT for 87-90 you have to weld on a bung for the EGR.

In 2000-2001 cast manifolds were used, with or without the 2 mini-CATs (depending on 49 or 50 state emissions packages).

That "Dynomax" header is a copy of the Pacesetter, see this thread: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1049669&highlight=dynomax

There are better headers out there, like the APN: http://www.ineedparts.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=15343

If you do go with the "Dynomax"/Pacesetter you will have fitment issues against the front driveshaft unless you have enough lift.

Well I checked last night and it hadn't shipped yet so sent an email trying to cancel it. If I can cancel it I will and get the APN. If not I'll lift it and go from there. I have a Co-worker who has the same year XJ as me and he just put the same header on and had zero issues but his XJ has about 5.5" of lift.

I run a Banks, but mine is a 2000 so options weren't as plentiful. Banks is little pricey, but you I've had zero issues.
