I took the advice of more that a few folks here and installed one of these today! The steering seems tighter, and it's definately quieter. I'm a little concerned about the amount of adjustment thread sticking out, though. My lift is just under 5", and it looks like I'm using 2/3 of the threaded part. The axle IS centered.
Normal?

It should be ok,Ive got more lift than that and hadnt noticed any problem! It goes in there pretty far!
BTW: I think you will really like it,I still think its the best trackbar out there!

Bill,
i just bolted one on a week ago and love it. one thing though, after a day or three check on that frame mount and make sure it is still tight, they have a tendency to wiggle themselves loose right after you first put them on.

I've got a question for you guys. Most of the people on this board seem to prefer the RE HD track bar or those that drop the mount point on the body lower. Why is this? Doesn't that add stress to the body? Obviously, if you put a brace on it it solves that problem, but why not just use something like Skyjacker's design that raises the mount point on the axle instead? I had the RE HD unit when it first came out, but at only 4" of lift it hit my diff cover all the time, so I sold it and got a Teraflex unit. Am I missing something?

The RE mount has exactly the same centerline pivot as the stock mount!

It was the bar itself that hit my diff when I had it on, not the mount.

Because the bar is straight where the stock one curves around the diff. Back then they didn't have anything on their website stating to only use that bar for bigger lifts like they do now. Any reasons why it's preferable to drop the frame mount instead of raise the axle mount? Just because it's RE and we like RE stuff? :)

When you move the Trackbar mount on the axle, it afects the steering angles.
If you do over the knuckle steering linkages, you may have to move your axle mount higher, so that your steering draglink and trackbar are parallel. If they are not, DW, bumpsteer,etc... Even if you have the RE HD trakbar and mount.
With the OEM steering linkages moving the TB is not required.

Maybe they made a change.Ive purchased 3 bars in the last 2 years. They seem to have a kick right above the pumpkin. So far with the different lifts no contact with the cover.

It's because the 1600 bar uses a heim. Heims stink ;)
The Extreme Duty bar uses a superflex joint and will not work with anything other than the RE mount.
So we really just like the bar and the SF joint lots and lots...the Bracket is an added bonus ;)
