My dad and I found a guy who is selling what he says is a 3/4 Ton full floating Dana 44 or 60 that came out of a 15 or 20 passenger bus with only 40K on it.

First, how do I check to see if its a 44 or a 60 with out pulling the cover to look at the diameter of the ring gear? If its a 44 how hard is it to find parts for a full floater?

How much is this axle worth? The guy said he wants $300 for it. I dont know the condition of the insides or the gear ratio.

Quick responses are needed!!

Thanks

Ok thanks for the info. Any pics?

I never bothered doing any research for finding a D44 or 60 and what they look like. Didnt really want to go and get one, and having an exploerer 8.8 found for me was the easier thing to do at the time.
