D30 carrier question

way to tell (by the stamped numbers?) if the carrier is on one side of the gear break or the other?
 
If its a Dana carrier then yes,just look up the number.
 
can also measure the deck height... 3.54-down (numerically) is 1.810", 3.73-up is 1.943" so about 1/8" taller.
