2000 Xj Gauges not working "no bus"

My gauges mysteriously quit working and it says no bus in the digital mileage gauge:helpme:

Do a search for it there's usually at least one new thread a week posted about the no bus issue. If you search for no bus it will likely not return anything as the words are to small but do a search for instrument cluster not working. It has to do with the hard mounted connection on the back of the gauge cluster coming loose. Can sometimes fix by reseating cluster other times has to be more drastic.

no bus means that the gauges arent communicating with the computer. pull the gauge cluster out and see what is up. it could be a loose connection or a bad ground
