is a stock np231 with an sye ok if im running 4.10 and 33x10.50 or should i go all out and do a wide chain cause My last np231 lasted 200k miles and the chain stretched out and caused failure in the 4wd area or is 200k miles about time for a new t-case

Everyone I know with that combo does fine without the upgrade. Now a question for you. Are you happy runnin 4.10's with those 33's or should I go with 4.56's?

The chain is a servicealbe item. 200k out of one is perty good life.

OP, since you will have the case apart do the widechain upgrade.

I would run 4.56's on 32s or above.

Cost benefit analysis:

Change the chain every 75-100k miles or upgrade?

Me, I keep watching for a NP231 with the wide chain and sprockets in the salvage yards, a number of 4x4s had them.
